Nguyen Trung Truc Shrine Đền thờ Nguyễn Trung Trực

Shrine by the Ông Lang sand

Shrine by Ông Lang: follow the short path off the beach and leave incense in the courtyard. Ông Lang sits just north of Dương Đông, a crescent of sandy bays split by black volcanic rock, with the sunset over the open west. The shrine is the stop at the end of that path. The beach itself is the swim.

The north

Islands

Follow the path off Ông Lang and leave incense in the courtyard. Ong Lang Beach sits just north of Duong Dong, a line of sandy bays split by slabs of black volcanic rock, with orchards and gardens behind a thin white-sand shore and the sunset over the open west. A tiny path leads to the Nguyen Trung Truc shrine, where locals leave incense. The bays are sheltered and quiet, with a few boutique resorts.

The shrine is the hall, the garden, and the courtyard. Gành Dầu, farther north, is the cape where the mountain comes down to the sand. Ông Lang is the shore between that cape and the town. Swim the bays, walk the path, and keep Bãi Trường as the beach the west-coast night is built on.

Getting there and around

Ông Lang is just north of Dương Đông. The shrine is a short path off that beach. Ride north from town along the west coast. The bays are sheltered.

If the night is on Long Beach, search Phu Quoc hotels.

From Dương Đông

North along the west coast to Ông Lang, then the short path to the shrine. The beach sits just north of the town.

From Gành Dầu

Gành Dầu is the cape farther north, where the mountain meets the sand. Ông Lang is the shore between that cape and Dương Đông. The shrine is on the Ông Lang side.
