Lam Dong now also includes the former Dak Nong and Binh Thuan provinces, so Mui Ne shares the province on paper.

Da Lat Đà Lạt

Da Lat is a cool highland city of pines, lakes, and French-era villas. It is a short flight or a long sleeper from Ho Chi Minh City. Come for the temperature, the market, and the countryside, not for a checklist of themed parks.

Da Lat was built as a hill station and still feels like one: a central lake, a market on a slope, and villas on ridges. Evenings are cool enough for a jacket when the coast is hot.

The countryside of flowers, coffee, and vegetable greenhouses is the better half-day. The amusement-park versions of “Crazy House” are optional.

Common questions

Can you combine Da Lat and Mui Ne?
They share a province after the merger and they are still a long ride apart. Fly or bus each one from Ho Chi Minh City rather than linking them in a day.

Side trips from Da Lat

Da Lat by interest

Cool weather, coffee country, and a family stop. It is a poor choice if you wanted a beach and booked the highlands by mistake.

Getting there and around

Lien Khuong Airport is a downhill ride from the city. In town, walk the market and the lake, and use Grab or a taxi for the valleys. EasyRider motorbike tours are common; ride yourself only with the proper license.
